Week 33

Finally we had a day with cooperative weather for water day.  Such great fun we had!

What a wonderful year we have to celebrate and hope you enjoyed the kindergarten movie!  The progress that has been made this year is truly amazing and we hope you were able to see this in the portfolios.  This has been an incredible group of children to work with this year and we feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity to be a part of their academic journey.  We thank you for sharing your children with us and for your continued support throughout the year.  Have a fun filled and relaxing summer.  We look forward to re-connecting in August as our new school year begins.

Snapshot of our final week in kindergarten:

Monday 5/29 - No School, Memorial Day

Tuesday 5/30 - Day 4: Spanish & P.E.

Wednesday 5/31 - Day 5:  Spanish & P.E.

Thursday 6/1 - Day 6:  Rehearsal & Art

Friday 6/2:  Final Day of School!  This is a dressier day for students.  The closing ceremonies will begin at 1:30 in the Chapel.  You can pick your child up in the classroom following the program for final good-byes.

Ideas for summer fun:
Read, Read, Read!  We cannot stress the importance for each child to be reading daily.  Continued practice over the summer is important for them to be prepared as they enter first grade.  If you would like book suggestions for your child at their reading level, let us know!  The public library would be a great resource for finding books for your child.

Ask your child to write!  They can help you make lists or even write a story about something fun they did.

Use money to count by 1’s, 5’s and 10’s.  Develop different scenarios where they would have to buy an item and come up with the correct amount.
Educational websites and apps are also great reinforcement of skills!

Most importantly, we hope your child has the opportunity for play and the down time they all need!
